Outstanding Service in Public Sector/Public Interest Law Award
The annual Public Sector/Public Interest Law Award, created in response to a recommendation from the Public Sector/Public Interest Task Force appointed during the tenure of NHBA president Richard B. McNamara, is given at the awards’ luncheon at the Bar’s Midyear Meeting.
This award is presented to a member of the New Hampshire Bar, or an organization employing eligible members, who, at the time of the nomination, have at least five years of service, up to and including the time of the nomination, in government service, military service, law enforcement, public interest law services (including prosecution, public defense, legal advocacy in low-income communities or for individuals with disabilities at a nonprofit organization), or at an organization that is described in section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and exempt from taxation under section 501(a) of such Code. Qualified individuals/organizations may be nominated more than once.
