Reports To: Deputy Executive Director

FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt

Summary:  In cooperation with our managed services provider, address maintenance and support of New Hampshire Bar Center technology, including but not limited to, servers, printers, copiers, workstations, telephones, and the like by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Administers and maintains all NH Bar Center workstations, office equipment/peripherals, and telecommunication systems.
  • Assists with/coordinates support of server and networking infrastructure in cooperation with NHBA’s managed service provider, Mainstay Technologies, to include but not limited to maintaining secure and efficient systems by installing new applications, performing hardware and software upgrades, monitoring daily activity, enforcing licensing agreements, maintaining a storage management program, providing for routine backups, and contributing to the NH Bar Center’s disaster recovery plan.
  • Backup for the Database & Website Coordinator
  • Develops, recommends, implements, and administers the purchase of all computer and telephone related hardware and supplies, and also develops and administers a maintenance plan in collaboration with the Deputy Executive Director.
  • Maintains five-year technology asset replacement plan.
  • Offers input to the Deputy Executive Director regarding the NH Bar Center’s capital budget.
  • Participates in determining the information technology infrastructure and equipment for the organization.
  • Works with all department directors to maximize the use of information technology to include providing or improving a program’s or department’s delivery of service, collection of data, or efficiency of processes.
  • Supports Bar staff by troubleshooting a variety of issues and problems connected with desktop, peripheral hardware, and software applications.
  • Ensure a high level of security across all technology by understanding and maintaining in-place security tools and processes, identifying gaps and recommending remediation and keeping staff trained/aware of known or emerging threats.
  • Identifies and handles basic hardware, software or network problems, and also seeks to teach users by answering questions, interpreting operating instructions, providing resources, recognizing problems that require a higher level of support, and contacting appropriate vendor support for resolution.
  • Documents, tracks, and monitors problems and tasks to ensure timely resolution and feedback to users.
  • Contributes to research, development, and planning for hardware and software upgrades and enhancements.
  • Involvement with staff training as it relates to technology used.
  • Maintains a help desk project management and reporting system using Track-It software for IT, website and facility requests and routes such requests accordingly.
  • Contributes to the development of a staff computer system orientation manual and training of new staff members on our software resources, and also suggests changes to processes and procedures to facilitate workflows in response to changes in technology.
  • Communicates with the New Hampshire Bar Center’s user community regarding system-related issues in order to facilitate overall office planning and productivity.
  • Maintains and updates an adequate level of documentation of responsibilities and processes within the position.
  • Performs all duties in accurate and timely manner and contributes to the success of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s staff in meeting their departmental goals and those of the New Hampshire Bar Center via technology.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with New Hampshire Bar Association’s information technology vendors.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant state-of-the-art data and telecommunication technology, equipment, and systems.
  • Contributes to maintaining a work environment that promotes the success of other members of the department and Bar Center staff

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer hardware skills (installing/troubleshooting of/memory/hardware/operating systems) as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Dynamics GP, SQL, and database software (must be able to learn and work with The Associate membership database).

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
