Sections
Membership in one or more of the New Hampshire Bar Association’s sections provides an opportunity for improving knowledge and skills in a particular practice area. Many NHBA members currently belong to one or more of the Bar’s 19 sections, which cover a wide array of practice areas such as family law or intellectual property law.
This section facilitates discussions on alternative dispute resolution in New Hampshire, offering training for mediators/arbitrators, addressing ethical rule issues, and informing the Bar about ADR procedures and precedents nationally and internationally.
This section aims to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of its members in appellate law and procedure.
This section convenes two to three annual meetings for informal discussions on litigation procedures concerning business-related matters.
This section focuses on enhancing the professional knowledge and skills of its members regarding condominium and homeowner associations.
This section periodically meets to discuss mutual interest issues, advises on regional CLE programs, monitors legislation affecting business law, and contributes articles to legal publications.

This section convenes monthly to discuss NH environmental laws, develop CLE programs, educate the public, and ensure alignment of state environmental laws with scientific principles.
With over 300 members, this section offers opportunities for professional development, periodic discussions on relevant issues, and acts as a liaison between judiciary, legislature, state agencies, and the Bar.
This section enhances members’ knowledge of practice before Federal Courts in New Hampshire and the First Circuit, fosters dialogue between Bar and bench, and improves their relationship.

With around 150 members, this section convenes monthly to discuss various topics, including legislative updates and municipal issues.
This section conducts discussions and educational sessions on issues relevant to public sector attorneys.
This section organizes monthly meetings to enhance members’ knowledge in real property law and updates Title Examination Standards.
This section meets regularly, co-sponsors an annual “Tax Forum” with the NH Society of CPAs, and serves as a resource on tax-related matters for Bar members.
This section addresses trust and estate issues through monthly meetings and discussions on estate planning, administration, probate litigation, and related topics.
This section meets quarterly to update members on changes and developments in workers’ compensation law.

We invite new NHBA members to try a complimentary membership in one or more of our sections for the remainder of the current membership year. New Lawyers admitted to the NH Bar between March 1st and May 31st of the current membership year may enjoy the complimentary membership for the following membership year as well.
